“There is a bird on her head!” - Michigan Photographer

Aug 30th 2009 | Categories - Families | 2 Comments »

*This was supposed to be posted at 10am this morning but I accidentally scheduled it for 10pm! Sure sign that I shouldn’t do sneak peaks at midnight!  Go figure! Sorry “P” family!”

This is the adorable “P” family! Their adorable daughter Miss L is a little smarty farty and we couldn’t get anything past her.  She did a fabulous job for me, but toward the end of the shoot (like most kids get) she wanted to play instead of get her picture taken. There were just a few more shots that I wanted to get and the smart little Miss L would answer all of my questions and address me very politely when I called her name but only with her head down while playing in the sand. haha But her smarty pants dad had a great idea and said “There is a bird on her head!” and it worked 3 different times and we got some shots like this………

“I’m up for anything!” - My favorite saying from clients

Aug 29th 2009 | Categories - Maternity | No Comments »

Most of my clients are “up for anything” but sometimes I throw out ideas and I get this look like “you’re nuts!”  haha Understandably so! I completely understand! But with Jamie was serious when she said she was up for anything! The weather wasn’t the best to be outside, but she was a champ and smiled through it! The pictures I’m posting now are some of the first 10 photos taken! I don’t know what I said to make her laugh…..heck I might not even have said anything….sometimes I just make people laugh from some of my photo stances! “SUMO STANCE!” But when I saw these I knew they had to be posted because don’t they just make you smile and say “awe” out loud? What a super cute belly on a super cute momma! This is their second boy, big brother Blaise is going to be such a big helper! I have a few more pictures that I plan to post but I will keep you all in suspense of what Jamie let me talk her into!

I hope you enjoy this sneak peak Gooding family!!

Not my typical photo session - Northern Michigan Senior Photos

Aug 28th 2009 | Categories - Seniors | 3 Comments »

Obviously everyone knows (or at least I hope so) that I specialize in maternity, newborn, child, and family photography. Senior photos is not my speciality but after taking my cousins senior photos, I think I’m obsessed! haha
I knew that I was capable of taking his senior photos but I will admit, I was a bit nervous.

Give me a toddler with a tantrum - I’m good!

Hand me an infant that can’t seem to fall asleep long enough for one picture - I’m good!

A family of 2 adults and 5 kids all under the age of 9 - I’m good!

But a senior? Someone old enough to take direction?  Someone who can understand my jokes? Someone who will stay in one spot and I don’t have to chase them around (not that I don’t enjoy that!) with a heavy camera and lens? Well sign me up! Let’s try this out! haha

These are JUST A FEW - literally - a few! I have many more, but I didn’t want to overload. haha Well maybe this is an overload but ……ah well….. I do what I want! haha
ENJOY  everyone!!!! I hope you like this sneak peak Donnie!

Ella Bird - Traverse City Photographer

Aug 26th 2009 | Categories - Newborns | 2 Comments »

This is sweet, teeny-tiny Ella. A few fun facts about Ella:
*She is my best friends daughter

*She is Leightons best friend too (7 wks apart - not really planned)

*She decided August wasn’t a good month (just like baby S) so she came 5 weeks early and healthy as a horse! She is “technically” only 6 days old today!

*We call her Bird because……well….why do we call her Bird Jody? haha (he momma gave her the nick name and it fits!)

*She is as sweet as a McD’s Frappe - which her mother and I are addicted too but that is another post.

Okay I will shut up now…..here is Miss Ella Bird

Spam, Spam go away, please come back….um..NEVER!

Aug 25th 2009 | Categories - Fun Stuff | 1 Comment »

I just have to vent a bit about all the spam comments that I get everyday. I honestly get about 10 A DAY! I receive an email everytime I get a comment that needs to be ‘approved’ so I delete that email and then after 5 days of receiving emails about my spam comments I log in and delete all 140 or however many there are. UGH!
I wish there was a plugin that would eliminate all these spam comments. Actually there probably is but I don’t know how to do that. haha
Maybe Ryan can help me with this? :-D He did help me set up this awesome blogsite!!!

Hope everyone is having a great week! Sneak peak tomorrow!

Is it too soon to have baby fever? - Northern Michigan Photographer

Aug 19th 2009 | Categories - Newborns | 2 Comments »

Oh me oh my! I just love this lil man! This is baby “S” he decided that the month of August wasn’t a good month for birthdays so he came a few weeks earlier and made it at the tale end of July!

I know that Leighton was never this small (I’m not saying your big sweet baby girl!) but I feel like her infant days were so fleeting. I can barely remember them. Most likely due to lack of sleep, right mommy “S”? I’m so glad that your family asked me to capture baby “S”s fleeting infant days. He is definitely something you two have been waiting for for a long time! I hope you enjoy your sneak peak.

Love all 4 of you (yes that includes you Bossy Boston!)

One of my favorite families welcomed a new bundle of joy, baby “T”, on July 24th. Now Miss “F” is a big sister and the amazing bond of sisterhood begins! That bond is a very special, unbreakable bond and I am so happy for this family. I’m also super happy that they ask me to capture the beginning of something so wonderful.

Love you all and congratulations again!
