This is my boss  Mr. Hughes and his beautiful wife, daughter and son. Some of you are probably trying to figure out why I said my boss.

But why would her photography be called Melinda Ann?

Photography is my “moonlighting” job (remember that show?) and my “real job” haha is being a super duper important office manager for Brownwood Farms of Traverse City! We make very yummy and healthy specialty foods. Check it out! We’re kind of a big deal!

But onto the pictures! He asked me to take a few family pictures for them and I gladly did. They’re amazing and we are so happy and thankful to know a family as wonderful and kind as them.  ps - Mr. Hughes did NOT pay me to say these things

Okay I’m just gonna start off with … I hope I have a little boy someday! This lil man is ADORABLE!!!!  His sister is beautiful too! She has this timeless look to her that made me want to use the vintage look. But my goodness, look at this lil man! Doesn’t he just make you want to SQUEEEEEEZE him! In a nice way of course!

These two were PERFECT angels at their session! Mom and Dad were great too! They knew that the kids would work better if they just stepped back a bit.  We didn’t have to do much persuading to get these two to have fun at the beach, besides the end when lil man was getting cracker hungry and it became “you get a cracker and we can take a picture.” haha
It took a few tries and some last minute planning to be able to get this shoot in order! These kiddies are from 3 hours downstate, but their parents wanted pictures on a beautiful Northern Michigan beach (and we have an abundance of them!) and after some horrible weather on the planned weekend of the shoot they had to cancel their shoot. :*( It was a bummer! But then BAM Summer weather started up again and we planned this shoot through emails in one day, they found a last minute hotel for one night and TADA…..

I’m still doing shoots on Sundays, therefor galleries will be going up on Sundays and I would be SO happy to answer any questions about the gallery…. on Monday. Normally no one has any questions the day a gallery goes up anyway, I imagine they are  busy watching the slideshow over and over again, picking favorites, and sending the invite to family and friends.

Thanks to some of our friends up here in Northern Michigan (not many; how sad haha) we were able to meet some new friends thru them.

When we first met our new friends, the S family,  we were both pregnant (due a few months apart) and got along so great! Now we are both so excited to raise our kids together and do all the fun, crazy things that people get to do once they are parents. Mommy and me classes, Halloween costume shopping, school shopping, christmas shopping……this is a lot of shopping… and sports, get togethers, etc, etc, etc.
I was so happy when they asked me to take pictures of their newest addition Mr. “B”. And I hope that he doesn’t get sick of my camera being in his face for all the fun things that his mommy and I have planned for our kids. haha

This is the Shetler family! I’m not going to be all secretative and say the “S” family like I normally do but that is only because they are a pretty well known farming family up here in Northern Michigan. So I will gladly do a lil plug for them….. SHETLER DAIRY FAMILY! Their products are everywhere up here. I enjoy going to local restaurants/cafe’s looking on the menu and seeing “Shetlers Milk used here.” What is even funnier is that Darcy and I went to school together back in Davison & now we both live up here. Small world.

Thank you Shetler Family for asking me to do some family photos for you before your newest addition arrives! Your children are SO beautiful and VERY photogenic AND who can resist those eyes??!! My goodness!!!

I was so flattered when our neighbors (by neighbors I mean far down the road) asked me to do a shoot for their son Mr “C” turning ONE! I was of course in - very beautiful children, very beautiful family and a very beautiful house.
You can tell that this lil man is VERY loved by his entire family! No one could get enough of him. He is so sweet and his big sister adores him, which has to help out mom and dad a lot! A matter of fact she is just about the age to start babysitting….hmmm…
